I don’t how you feel. But I’m excited to be in an historic moment in which change is happening, through vibrant, muscular collaboration and advocacy. Electric buses have a key role in responding to the national cry of “I can’t breathe”.
In this issue I’ll look at racism (including my own) in the electric bus context, and ways to work on overcoming it, since feeling sad about the murder of George Floyd isn’t helpful by itself. First, a few resources.
My ongoing theme in this newsletter is that electric buses are hard, worth the effort (including in the COVID 19 era), and require new levels of silo-busting collaboration between us.

Our beautiful state of Oregon boasts about 2,000 public transit buses and 7,975 school buses. Just 14 of our 9,975 total buses run on electricity, with no tailpipe emissions. That’s .001%.
